Our Oklahoma Station Safari Club International Chapter 2011 Christmas Event is going to be
a spectacular ordeal. A full day of Events at Hickory Ridge Ranch near Lamar Oklahoma.
With the overly generous help of HRR we are able to extend and invitation to all SCI
members, plus one guest (additional guests at $20 each), to have a day out at the Hickory
Ridge Ranch. This is not just a dinner and some cheer, it is a day of play and tours of the
ranch as well (more below). Members, THANK YOU for your support and those who are not
members, here is yet another reason to become a member of the club that DOES for the
state of Oklahoma and beyond!

near
Oklahoma, includes 2,000 very wild acres under high fence
and another 1,350 acres outside the fence, along the South Canadian River. The ranch is
professionally managed for whitetail bucks, and it has deer scoring over 250”. Hickory Ridge
is also home to an elk herd which has produced bulls in excess of 400”. The main ranch is
composed of lush food plots nestled amongst oak-hickory forest and sits on a small mountain
overlooking the South Canadian and the town of Lamar. This is truly a hunter’s paradise.
Weather permitting, activities for the day will include: trap shooting, tours of the ranch,
fishing and archery in an indoor archery range complete with a techno hunt system. A
campfire will be lit in front of the main lodge for the exchanging of hunting tales, fish stories
and other lies. Lunch will be served around one o’clock. After lunch guests can stay for
additional activities as well as general camaraderie with fellow members.
Once again Hickory Ridge will be donating a youth hunt to our annual banquet and fundraiser
which is to be filmed for OkieWild by Bo Newsom. For anyone looking to bid on the hunt this
event is a great opportunity to check out the ranch.
For a small fee cabins can be made available for any members wishing to stay the night;
however reservations are needed to allow the HRR staff time to prepare the rooms for
guests. Please contact Joshua Jones, 405-714-0555 for reservations or more information.
