Shooters Hunting Lodge

Shooters Hunting Lodge is located in Kennebec, SD, right in the heart of pheasant country. Our farm is almost totally planted for pheasants. And these are all wild pheasants, we do not release birds. Typically you will see hundreds of birds a day.

We now also do deer (white tail and mule deer) hunts, prairie dog hunting, walley fishing, goose hunting, and coyote hunting.

Most of our land is in CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) which means it is all wildlife habitat. In our dedication to provide the best possible habitat, we have also planted food plots for additional feed for the pheasants and have planted additional trees every year we have been in business. You will be hunting food plots, tree groves, sloughs, cattails, and grasses.

A hunting guide(s) and one or more of our hunting dogs will go along with each group. They have hunted the land extensively and know the best way to hunt each spot. (You are welcome to bring your own dog.)

Each person is allowed to shoot three rooster pheasants and have a total of 15 in possession at the end of five days. You must get a SD small game license which, at the current time, costs $110 and is good for two non-consecutive periods of five days. During the hunt you will also be allowed to hunt prairie chicken and grouse as we come across them. Our hunting season typically begins the third weekend in October and runs until the end of December.

Our two story lodge features expansive decks, which lends to "bird watching". Each room has its own bathroom. There is a bar/tv area to relax after the hunt.

We had the wonderful opportunity to film two late season hunts with Outdoorsmen Adventure hosted Gary Howey one in November one in December. After hunting with us Gary said,

"I've hunted pheasants throughout the Midwest for over 40 years and have never hunted in an area with the number of birds that I did at Shooters Pheasant Hunting"

We have two different packages to choose from.

Package number one caters more to the hunter. It includes hunting, lodging, continental breakfast, field lunch, and evening meal, transportation (pick up from the airport and transportation to local casinos, bars, etc after the hunt), bird processing, and shells. The cost is $1500 for a three day, three night hunt, $2000 for four days, four nights, and $2500 for five days, five nights. An additional night can be added at a cost of $50 per person.

Package number two is for the hunter that prefers to be more on his own. He wants to grab a bite to eat in town or fix his own lunch. It is for hunting and lodging. The cost is $1200 for three days, three nights, $1600 for four days, four nights, and $2000 for five days, five nights.

You need to send a 50% deposit to reserve your date.

Ask about day hunts.
