2007-2008 Program Raffle Expiration Notice

Just a reminder that the SCIF Humanitarian Services Department’s 2007 - 2008 PROGRAM RAFFLE(which began on July 1, 2007) ends on May 31, 2008. Please have any new entries e-mailed or postmarked on or before that date. There will be one drawing for each of the following four programs: Sportsmen Against Hunger, Sensory Safari, SafariCare/SafariWish and Disabled Hunter, and winning chapters will receive a check for $2,000 to be used for an existing or new HS program during the fiscal year July 1, 2008 – June 30, 2009.

The 2009 Convention Display Raffle, in which chapters drawn will have one of their photos enlarged and displayed on one of the large background panels making up the Education/Humanitarian Services Booth at the 2009 SCI Convention, will continue through October 31, 2008. After convention, enlargements will be mailed to chapters to use as they see fit.

Eligibility for both raffles is the same: please submit to me a short (250-300 word) article and high-resolution photos describing any HS program in which your chapter has participated during the relevant time period. Please click here to see Raffle Guidelines.

Winning articles and photos will also be published in Safari Times, where Humanitarian Services will now have a full-page ad each month beginning in July 2008. They will also be used in chapter/museum slide presentations and be added to the “HS Projects” section of the Humanitarian Services website at www.sci-foundation.org. Please visit that area to see photos and short blurbs, as well as full texts, of 189 recent HS projects undertaken by SCI chapters and individual members. You can search by program, destination country (in the case of SafariCare Blue Bags) and by chapter. A hyperlink will take any visitor directly to your individual chapter website in case they’d like to join!

If you’d like a hard copy of the Raffle Guidelines or Photo Submission Guidelines—or if you have any questions at all—please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your time and participation!
